Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
As these verses suggest giving thanks every day meets the will of God and will grow a healthy measure of gratitude after writing down three items each day for 21 days.
Psalm 199:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Meditation happens in many ways. Each day a new Bible verse will be listed for you to use as your point of reflection and direction for that day. Spend at least 10 minutes in a private time or with a partner in quiet reflection and discussion each ending with a prayer.
3. Jot Down the God Moments
Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence?
This may be difficult at first but as your day progresses be mindful of how God was active. That activity might happen via the scripture passage, your interaction with another person, or in your “random act” of service in Christ.
4. Move Your Body
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.
Most everyone is capable of some kind of activity. Keep a modest goal as you commit to some kind of exercise each day. As little as 15 minutes can bring great dividends for a healthy life.
5. Christ Centered Random Acts of Love
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.
This fifth activity has potential for great variety. It could be a random moment in which you help another person, send an encouraging email, or you could spend a week’s time planning a single large service event accomplished with your friends. Use your imagination and you will find several Christ Centered Random Acts of Love each week.
